The family recognized the incredible growth potential in the Triangle, so in the late 1990’s they diversified into commercial real estate and invested more than $300 million in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina.

W. Kyle Greer, CCIM
Kyle Greer is an experienced, award-winning commercial real estate broker, economic developer and entrepreneur who is passionate about real estate and community. In 2018 Kyle founded Mackenan, a real estate development company focused on delivering quality projects that will enhance communities. He now spearheads Mackenan’s strategic direction and all aspects of daily operations.
Prior to founding Mackenan, Kyle was the Vice President of Economic Development at the Cary Chamber of Commerce where he led all the economic development efforts for the Town of Cary. During his tenure (3.5 years) he recruited over 7,700 new jobs to Cary along with over $300 million of new private capital investment. Before leading economic development for Cary, Kyle worked as a commercial real estate broker. While a broker Kyle won numerous awards and was widely recognized and called upon as an expert on commercial real estate in the Triangle.
When not working, Kyle enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors. He is also an avid collector of bourbon. Kyle holds a BS in Business Management with a minor in computer science from N.C. State University. He and his wife Megan reside in Cary with their young son, Will.

Wesley Cook, PE
Wes Cook is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience with planning and design of both national and local real estate development projects. For Mackenan, Wes leads and directs efforts to include site evaluation and selection, due diligence, design team relationships, property entitlements, and pre-construction efforts. While at Mackenan, Wes has delivered mixed-use residential, life science & labratory, retail, medical office, and industrial projects.
Prior to Mackenan, Wes served on the executive team of a full-service, eastern US based engineering firm where he lead the strategic elements of the firm. This role included M&A activity, geographical & practice area expansion, financial profitability of the firm, and local philanthropy.
Wes holds several local and statewide board positions and remains highly involved in the YMCA of the Triangle, North Carolina Society of Engineers, Professional Engineers of North Carolina, and NC State University. While not working, Wes enjoys spending time with his wife, Meghan, and two children, Wells and Collins. An avid sportsman and outdoorsman, Wes enjoys playing golf & tennis and spending time fishing and boating along the coast of North Carolina.
Wes holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from NC State’s College of Engineering and an MBA from NC State’s Poole College of Management. He and his family reside in Raleigh.

Matt Hunsucker
Matt Hunsucker is a 23-year veteran of finance and real estate investment. Most recently, Matt was a principal of QR Capital, a real estate private equity firm focused on the acquisition and development of apartments and student housing in the southeast. Since 2009, QR Capital acquired over 8,200 apartment units and realized over 28% IRR on its portfolio.
Prior to QR Capital, Matt was Director of Capital Markets for Miles Properties where he raised institutional and private equity and oversaw a debt portfolio of over $800 million. Prior to Miles Properties, Matt was an investment banker with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Merrill Lynch where he worked on over $1.5 billion in corporate finance transactions. Outside of his real estate activities, Matt is an active investor in technology startups.
While not working, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and playing mediocre golf. Matt graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BS in Business Administration from Kenan-Flagler. He and his wife Kim reside in Raleigh with their two sons, James and Grant.

Hayden Parker
Hayden Parker is a Triangle native and real estate professional with a strong project management background that translates into helping MacKenan achieve their vision in the community that he calls home. At Mackenan, Hayden is focused on project execution. Hayden is responsible for financial analysis, construction & loan administration, and general project management.
Hayden was a founding member of Lee & Associates Raleigh-Durham Property Management in 2017. Hayden helped strategically grow the business to over 1.6M square feet of assets under management. Among other responsibilities, Hayden was responsible for drafting and administering operating and capital improvement budgets exceeding $10M annually. Prior to Lee & Associates, Hayden worked for a corporate supply chain company, where he was responsible for managing sourcing projects, including the oversight of multiple RFP bidding events.
Hayden is a graduate of North Carolina State University's Poole College of Management with a degree in Operations and Supply Chain Management. When Hayden isn't working, he enjoys spending time on the water at the NC coast, cooking, and running. Hayden and his wife, Allie, reside in Cary.

Joe Stephenson, GC
Joe Stephenson is a licensed General Contractor with 20 years of experience overseeing residential, multi-family, mixed use, health care and hospitality projects. For Mackenan, Joe oversees all aspects of the construction process from pre-construction design, budgeting and contractor selection, to build out and delivery.
Joe started his career in construction with Habitat for Humanity, working to address the affordable housing issue at home in NC, and throughout the gulf coast post Hurricane Katrina. This led to an opportunity with a regional multi-family general contractor, where Joe delivered 4+ million square feet and thousands of units with an emphasis on quality, sustainable building practices, and client satisfaction.
Joe is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Business Administration. When not working he enjoys starting (but seldom finishing) home improvement projects and playing passable guitar. He resides in Cary with his wife Sarah, and two young daughters.
